Ashford House was so much more than a Nursing Home. It was our dads home – a place where he felt safe, was cared for and treated with immense kindness and respect. The team knew his likes and dislikes, what his little habits were and the various things in life that made him happy. As a family we knew that we could depend on the team to care for him as if he were one of their own.
We will always be grateful and appreciative to the team and now that dad has passed we can look back and know that dads later years were happy and fulfilled thanks our wonderful friends in Ashford. We would like to thank you with all our hearts.
To Everyone at Ashford House
We would like to thank you all for the wonderful care that you gave our Mam Kay.
She loved living there and is now gone to be with Jack.
Thank you sincerely.

To all in Ashford House
I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank you all for your kindness and very professional care of Willie (June 2016) and Vera (June 2012).
In choosing a nursing home, I’m sure finding a place that will feed, clothe and care for someone is secondary to finding somewhere that will treat them with compassion and dignity. I can honestly say that Ashford House was wonderful on every level but most importantly in regard to the latter – and not only did you treat Willie and Vera so well but you took the time to be kind and welcoming to my brother and myself.
In both Vera’s and Willie’s cases they were only with you a short while before they were called home to God, but we really appreciate the kindness shown to them. Maybe the biggest compliment I can pay you is to say that Ashford House did not feel like a business.
With every good wish to all
I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful impression your staff
left with me.
I went to visit a family friend Sylvia both on the 2nd and 3rd
of March and both times the staff were excellent. Summer was very
welcoming and she helped me when I needed to find a phone number. She
let me use her telephone book and I found the phone number I needed.
My Aunt had just had an operation on her brain that day so Summer was
so helpful and let me use a private room when I needed privacy. Both
Summer and Siby helped me with my Sat Nav on my phone when it wasn't
working so then I was able to use it and Maria, Siby and Summer were
always so welcoming and asking me if I'd like a cup of tea.
A big thank you to them all.
To all the staff in Ashford House
No words can express how grateful we are for the care and attention you gave to our Dad George Clack for over six years. Even though sometimes he did not realise it, he had a lovely life in Ashford House. Your dedication and devotion to his care is truly amazing – from monitoring his various health conditions, to looking after his personal hygiene, to taking the time to listen to him reminiscing, and of course for the lovely food.
We wish you all health and happiness for the future.
Thank you all so very much.
Love and best wishes from,
Teresa and Margaret
We the Doris family want to thank all at Ashford House for their love and care for Kay our mother for the entire time she was in your home. Mum expressed her contentment in her “second home” many times.
As a family we want to pay tribute to the extraordinary warm professional care given to Mum by each member of the remarkable staff in Ashford House Nursing Home. During a recent illness Mum refused to go to a hospital. “I want to stay here, they take care of me here, they know what I need and they love me”. You not only made Mum feel at home, this was extended to all the family and to her neighbours. We couldn’t have found a better place for Mum to end her days. From the bottom of our hearts we say Thank you!
The Doris Family
Dear Denise, Joe and all the wonderful staff at Ashford House
A very big thank you to you all for the wonderful care you gave to my mother Monica for the final two years of her life.
It was very reassuring to know she was in such good hands and really wanted for nothing at the end of her life. I still remember meeting Siby for the first time in the library and just knowing that my mother would be well taken care of.
I was going to list all your names but this card isn’t big enough! It doesn’t feel right to single out one or two people when each and every one of you do trojan work every day.
So thank you all for your kindness and care beyond the call of duty. I feel very lucky to have known you all.
I want to thank you, Joe and all the staff working in Ashford House for the incredible loving care given to my mother in the 26 months or so that she lived with you. I also have to thank you for the incredible way that Paul, Ruth and I, and our extended families were treated and looked after. Paul and I miss our visits hugely. I know good, caring, kind staff when I see them and Ashford House has them in abundance. Not only am I grateful for how you looked after my mother, I loved being part of Ashford House for 26 months.
Thank you Denise, so, so, so much.
My father James had been a resident of Ashford House Nursing Home on a respite basis every six weeks since January 2011. The morning last May when he decided he wanted to go into permanent residence in Ashford House was a very emotional day for me. However, when I rang the nursing home to let them know, I was stunned and very moved by the voice at the other end of the line - "Wow'' she said, "does that mean James is coming here for good?; wow!".
When I brought him in, the smiling faces of the staff said 'welcome home". That is what Ashford House is - a warm, caring home for all who stay there.
Thank you Ashford House and all the loving carers who work there.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you and all your staff in Ashford House for the wonderful attention provided to Sean for the almost four years he was lucky enough to be in your care.
Your kindness to me when I learned that Sean would be in need of nursing home care and when I first visited you I will always remember.
I know I have said before that Sean would not have lived as long if he had been anywhere else and I firmly believe that, so in fact, you gave me some extra time with him. Any time I visited him he always looked so comfortable and his every need was catered for, from culinary to personal care. Please extend my thanks to each and every member of your staff for their kindness to Sean. You have employed a fantastic group of people. They always made me feel most welcome whenever I visited - even at the crack of dawn.
While I am reluctant to highlight individuals because they were all wonderful, please extend my special thanks to Terry, Ann Marie, Marie, Siby and Richard.
May I wish you and all staff best wishes for the future and continued success with Ashford House Nursing Home.
Thanks for everything. I will miss my daily visits.
Anyone who has had experience of long-term illness involving high dependency and on-going care would probably agree that the most difficult point is the moment where the decision about a nursing home has to be made.
Against a background of dread and emotional turmoil we began our search in the neighbourhood. This saga fortunately for us ended happily. Having seen places that were chilly, over-extended, busy-busy, we were lucky enough to be offered a place in Ashford House on Tivoli Terrace East within walking distance of our home. But more, much more importantly, it had and has a warm and welcoming persona and a staff which embodies and personifies that. A sunny individual room with bathroom en suite, a lovely garden with fruit trees, hanging baskets, benches and picnic tables, a range of social events, sing-songs, parties and general craic - all serve to create an atmosphere of home from home. And the food's not bad either! Ashford House gives nursing homes a good name.
